With the participation of Professor Andrés Felipe Villaquirán Hurtado at the XI Latin American Meeting of Academics in Physiotherapy and Kinesiology, where various academic activities took place, the Physical Therapy Program at the University of Cauca continues to promote mobility exercises for students and faculty.

Professor Andrés Felipe Villaquirán Hurtado, affiliated with the Physical Therapy program, participated in the XI Latin American Meeting of Academics in Physiotherapy and Kinesiology, held from November 16th to 18th, 2023, in the city of Quito, Ecuador. During the event, he presented the poster titled "Experiences in sports physiotherapy: Physical activity for the comprehensive training of resident physicians."

The poster, developed in collaboration with professors Viviana Marcela Celis, Jefry Alexander Hoyos, and Nancy Janneth Molano, was one of the three works selected by Cladefk (Latin American Center of Academics in Physiotherapy and Kinesiology) for presentation at the event due to its social impact and the experience surrounding the training of human talent in healthcare.

"Through this and on behalf of the University of Cauca, we contributed to the event's objective, which focused on the joint reflection of the physiotherapist's participation in postgraduate training processes," stated Professor Andrés Felipe Villaquirán Hurtado.

Similarly, Professor Villaquirán conducted a lecture titled "Prevention of ankle injuries in athletes" with over 80 students from the Bachelor's program in Physiotherapy at the Central University of Ecuador.

Additionally, as the coordinator of the Master's in Human Development and Health, academic-administrative experiences were coordinated with the authorities of the Disability Faculty at the Central University of Ecuador and the University of Santander UDES. "This allows us to create agreements to strengthen student and faculty mobility at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels for the upcoming academic periods," he concluded.
